GARAGE Magazine is a biannual print publication that brings to life the most original and ambitious collaborative projects across contemporary art and fashion.
The magazine was launched in 2011 by Editor-in-Chief Dasha Zhukova, taking its name and spirit from Garage Museum of Contemporary Art in Moscow - the groundbreaking international art institution founded in 2008.
Since its inception, GARAGE Magazine has worked with many of the world's most celebrated creators, and initiated an array of global artistic dialogues. Among the contributors to have created exclusive content for the magazine are Jeff Koons, Damien Hirst, Nick Knight, Marc Jacobs, Richard Prince, John Baldessari, Inez & Vinoodh and Patrick Demarchelier.
Available to purchase right here, GARAGE is also stocked across newsstands internationally, as well as in art galleries, museums, Kunsthalles, and some of the world's most exclusive boutiques.
2011: For its launch issue, GARAGE commissions John Baldessari, Raymond Pettibon, Paul McCarthy, Damien Hirst, Jeff Koons, Richard Prince, Dinos Chapman, and Dr. Lakra to create tattoo designs - each of which are permanently inked onto willing participants and photographed by Hedi Slimane.
2012: GARAGE commissions artist-designed condoms from the Keith Haring Foundation, Mat Collishaw, and Tim Noble & Sue Webster, which readers receive in a denim back pocket sewn into Issue 2.
On the cover of Issue 3 sits a limited-edition vinyl record of Marc Jacobs in conversation with John Currin.
2013: GARAGE publishes a pioneering scratch'n'sniff feature in Issue 5, with five of the world's most celebrated perfumers creating scents in response to five renowned artworks. The magazine captures the imagination of the perfume industry and wins a coveted Jasmine Award.
2014: GARAGE releases its first-ever app in conjunction with a groundbreaking collaboration with Jeff Koons . After downloading this, readers can use their smartphones to scan the cover of Issue 7 to activate Koons' first virtual sculpture, created exclusively for GARAGE.
