1 Minute With...

We chat to Margaret Howell, right before her show this weekend.

GARAGE MAGAZINE: How important is notions of androgyny in your collections?
Margaret Howell: Very – I love the uncertainty and equality of an androgynous look.

GM: Tell us about the first white shirt...
MH: My first white shirt was my school uniform. The white shirt can be endlessly styled to look fresh.

GM: Are you designing for you?
MH: Yes, mostly

GM: If there was one piece of clothing you could not live without, what would it be?
MH: A tailored coat in winter. A cotton workwear trouser for summer.

GM: Day after the show, what will you be doing?
MH: It will be Monday, so back at work.
